Hello people =)
Let’s have a sneak peek for a while (though I still can’t find apt time to sit right posting queue stories from my side of life, hope can do it after i end my final exam =)). Well for today I just want to make a simple review on Australian Open 2009 which held on January 31st in Melbourne Park, Australia.
Let’s start with women’s final match - Serena Williams of the United States of America against Dinara Safina of Russia. Williams 6-0, 6-3 rout of Dinara Safina earned her a 10th Grand Slam title, a fourth Australian title - coming each odd-numbered year since 2003 - and the No.1 ranking. What I can say about the match is, from the beginning I could see Williams’ gonna win this match. Seeing Safina swing her racquet to get back hard hitting from Williams, she just had to go for broke against her but she failed. Well, everybody knew how hard Williams hit the ball aite??!!! I remember once the conversations between Williams and Marat Safin (brother to Safina) when they had their match at the age of 10 to a reporter recently , “Yeah I lose to her and you know why? At the age of 10, her body was as big as a truck!!!” LOL =D Not even spent one hour on the court (59 minutes, 1 minute to an hour PEOPLE!!), Safina could only said ''She was too good and I was just a ball boy on the court today” =)
Different from women’s match, for newly crowned Australian Open champion Rafael Nadal said the fear of a sudden end to his Grand Slam spree is inspiring him to take his tennis to another level after his titanic victory over Roger Federer. The Spaniard is the undisputed king of men’s tennis after he surged home to prevent Federer from equaling the all-time majors record in an epic five-setter. Nadal also became the first Spanish man to win the Australian Open. His gripping 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 6-2 triumph in 4 hours and 23 minutes (in fact a day before the final, Nadal spent 5 hours in semi-final on the court. i can't imagine how he controls his energy) improved his record over Federer to 13-6 and stretched his lead over the Swiss in the world rankings to more than 3000 points. This circuitously makes the whole world see the tears of Roger Federer after struggling so hard yet he can’t make to maintain his 14th ranking (Poor Federer, I really wish he win this match!!)
So people, if you are into tennis sports and do have any comment on this match, please drop your opinion here and who knows maybe we can share our interest related to this game over and over from now on =)
